Pachymetry is derived from the Greek pachy meaning “thick”
and metron indicating “measure”. Pachymetry is used to measure the thickness of the cornea.
Blatek uses bio-compatible materials and state-of-the-art ceramics that continue
to impress the pachymetry transducer market. Frequencies starting at 10MHz up to and
including 50MHz provide the necessary resolution needed for precise and accurate measurement.
Apertures less than 2mm and fractional bandwidths greater than 50% are typical with potted
cables and connectors of the customers’ choice.

A-Scan transducers are a one dimensional representation of the tissue.
Blatek uses a proprietary piezocomposite material and a maximized optimization that
is second to none. Blatek offers a premium quality A-Scan transducer in frequency
ranges of 8MHz to 20MHz. A typical transducer has greater than 50% fractional bandwidth
and 25mm focal length.
Blatek is well known for its higher sensitivity and broader
bandwidth probes. In the ophthalmic market, A-Scan probes are also offered with a
fixation light in the center of the transducer face for alignment with the visual
axis. Every probe is manufactured with known biocompatible materials on the patient
contact surface using well documented procedures for the manufacturing process.
